Creating a large-feeling luxurious lounge area was top priority for this small townhouse. The owners wanted an outdoor play area for their cats without using up too much of their patio. We were able to attach an enclosed cat-play area hidden behind a horizontal slat fence that flowed into the eye-catching garden. We created a much-needed space for entertaining that kept the garden open. Warm-hued cement “tiles” are surrounded by garden beds, with a water feature that provides a relaxing trickling soundscape to enjoy on outdoor evenings. Inspired by the homeowners’ eclectic taste for upcycled wood, we created a bar-height table around an existing power pole, giving even more useable dining space near the barbecue.
